The Untouchables (Marcius Pitt & Damian Slater) vs Davis Storm & Richter
This was one of the most anticipated matches on the card and it did not disappoint. All four of these men are ex EPW champions and would be at the top of any conversation about the all time greats of Perth wrestling.
The Untouchables had clearly done their homework and wanted no part of Richter early. It’s been a long time since he has been in an EPW ring but Slater and Pitt were well aware of the damage he could cause if he got on a roll. they targeted storm early and it looked as though though their game plan was going to lead them to a big win.
Unfortunately when Davis Storm is considered the weak link of a tag team you’re probably going to have a bad time…
Sure enough Storm was more than a handful for the two of them. No one in EPW has a knack of staying in the fight like the Iron Man and he kept the Untouchables honest. Once Richter got involved the entire match went up a notch.
An enziguri power bomb looked like it would be enough to secure a win for the fan favorites but eventually the cohesion and skill of Pitt and Slater proved to be too much and they would secure a hard fought and important victory.
The big story coming out of this was Richter. If he is back it could spell trouble for every single competitor on the EPW roster.
Its going to be very interesting to see what 2020 holds for all of these men.
“The Don” Michael Morleone vs “Mad” Mike Nicholls
EPW Championship Match
And just like that it was time for the main event.
These two brutes held absolutely nothing back. From the second both men got in the ring it was clear that a fight was on. The Don is no mug when it comes to throwing fists but this current version Mikey Nicholls is on another level to any wrestler who has ever stepped foot in an EPW ring.
Nicholls is tough, unflinching and unstoppable. He is both the irresistible force as well as the immovable object. If he wants something he will find a way to take it.
Nicholls wanted the EPW championship. While Don put up a respectable fight and lost no fans in the process, Nicholls would prove to be a challenge too far.
The match itself was EPW in its truest form. Physical, hard hitting and full of twists and turns. The Untouchables even showed up to add some confusion but in the end the only question was how long could Morleone hold on and with a final one finger salute and some choice words for Nicholls, The Dons historic championship reign was at an end.
Mikey Nicholls has destroyed all in his path in 2019. He barely broke a sweat getting past Bobby Marshall before continuing to mow through Dan Steel and Julian Ward (who finished ReAwakening as the number 1 contender and tag team champion respectably). The Don gave him the best fight of the lot but even he was comprehensively out gunned.
The immediate future of EPW just got a little murky and a whole lot madder.
Good luck Julian Ward…
