Toni Storm: A name renowned across the world. From Australia to the UK, America and Japan, this 22-year-old has made a name for herself as a bold, 80’s glam-esque wrestler.
The first, and current, PROGRESS Women’s Champion is coming to Perth in just over one week for PROGRESS x EPW – a show that promises to be unmissable.
With her hardcore attitude in tow, Storm has never been afraid to travel far and wide for her wrestling career, having left Australia for the UK at a young age to pursue her dream. That decision has undeniably paid off. Having gained worldwide fame through the Mae Young Classic, Storm is one of the most in-demand female wrestlers on the planet. Storm currently holds not only the PROGRESS Women’s title, but the WxW Women’s Championship (Germany) and the World of Stardom Championship (Japan).
And now on April 18 at PROGRESS X EPW, Toni Storm will face off against one of the hottest rising stars on the Australian pro wrestling scene…
TONI STORM VS ALLYSON CRUZ FOR THE PROGRESS WOMEN’S TITLE.
Since joining Generation Zero, Allyson Cruz has flourished as a wrestler, evident with her recent win of the Tag Team Championship with Hayden Zenith. Cruz is no stranger to Storm’s hard-hitting style, having spent six months training in Japan before returning to EPW with her new-found knowledge in early 2017. Allyson has wrestled interstate for the likes of Melbourne City Wrestling and recently travelled to America and Canada in one of her first steps to gain international recognition.
With undeniable passion and a fire to prove she belongs among the best, Cruz has welcomed this challenge (and opportunity) with open arms. While Storm has the undeniable experience advantage, Cruz’s natural instincts and solid technique can guarantee this will be far from a walk in the park.
On a personal note, this match is important for female wrestling in Western Australia. Due to various circumstances, there has not been a women’s division singles match in nearly nine months at Explosive Pro Wrestling. As the number of female trainees continues to grow at the EPW School of Pro Wrestling, I guarantee it will not be long until the Women’s Division is back with a fiery passion. This match will serve as a fresh reminder to everyone what exactly the women of EPW are capable of.
