As many of you would be aware, EPW recently traveled to South Australia to put on its first show abroad. 14 of our finest went to Adelaide to show the great fans of SA what EPW is all about. The show also included 6 of the best wrestlers that South Australia had to offer. The event was held at the Dom Polski Centre in Central Adelaide in will, hopefully, be the first of many EPW events abroad. This is a brief recap of the event.

SIX MAN INSANITY
Richter v Psychofett v Devlin Reeves v Jamie Jurah v The Vagrant v Shane Haste
This was a fast paced match that got the event off to a flying start. Haste was at his sensational best in this match, taking to the air with ease on more than one occasion. Jurah and Reeves got the crowd extremely riled up with their antics. All six men wound up battling on the floor with Haste completing a 450 moonsault onto the pack. Soon after, Jurah found himself victim to Richter’s Impaler (chokeslam backbreaker) and the #1 contender walked away the winner.

TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
The Genetically Superior Team v The Serial Thrillers
The champs versus the former champs. The Thrillers came out firing as GST struggled to find their feet. Although they fought back, GST could never seem to seize control for very long. The end saw classic GST as they managed to barely escape from several close near falls. Eventually, CJL drilled Brad West with the tag team title behind the referees back for a highly tainted win. Anda Nothica ruined the champ’s celebration by raving through the ring. GST attacked him which brought the Thrillers back out. After Brad and Justin laid GST out, Noth went upstairs and hit the 450 on CJL.

NWA-A GRUDGE MATCH
Cannonball Chris Taylor v Chopper Colman
EPW officials were more than happy to have this grudge match take place on this history making show. These two big man used all the heavy artillery in this match. Chopper was looking to put Cannonball away for good, while Taylor was looking for revenge after suffering several sneak attacks from Colman during the year. In the end, Chopper’s former valet, Anella, wondered down to ringside for a closer look. Colman allowed himself to be distracted and Taylor capitalised by hitting the CannonBomb for the 1-2-3.

INTERSTATE CHALLENGE
Mike ‘HAVOK’ Mills & Will Power v FN Carnage & Davis Storm
This was a battle for state pride. But personal pride was the deciding factor in this match. Neither team was happy about being paired with each other. Will Power is a fan favourite in South Australia while Havok has been showing more and more contempt for the fans all year long. The history between Storm and Carnage is well documented so they were never going to get along. After Will mistakenly struck Havok, Mills drilled him with a clothesline and walked out on him. Things looked bleak for Power, as Carnage nailed him with a TKO. But instead of going for the pin, Carnage continued to beat on Will. This brought Storm in who argued with his partner, telling him to just get the pin. Carnage responded by punching Storm in the face. Storm retaliated and Will took advantage by dropkicking Davis from the ring before tornado DDT’ing Carnage for a shock win.

Mikey v Jayson Cooper
As popular as Mikey is in Perth he is just as unpopular in South Australia. Jayson Cooper on the other hand is one of the South Australia’s favourite sons. These two went at it hard and heavy with Mikey dominating Cooper early on. Cooper fought back with high impact moves but could not put the EPW champion away. He made a fatal mistake by going for a swanton as Mikey managed to get his knees up just in time. Mikey then rolled Cooper up for the win. He had squared the interstate challenge up at 1-1.

‘JAG’ Brett James v Jimmy Payne
Jimmy’s return to EPW competition would not be an easy one. He faced one of Australia’s finest in Jag. This was a back and forth match with the action going to the outside on many occasions. Jimmy and Jag had clearly not forgotten about the war they waged when they last fought in Perth. Jag seemed to have the match won after Payne missed his patented Gore but Havok came out and cut Jag down from behind as he went for the Jagged Edge. Jimmy then gave Jag a tiger driver to win the interstate challenge for WA under dubious circumstances. Havok laid boots into Jag as Mikey and Carnage returned to the ring.

Will Power and Jayson Cooper ran out to break up the beat down on Jag and Storm returned to try and have a go at Mikey and Carnage. He then challenged them to return for an 8 man tag match. They returned and it was on.

Jag, Will Power, Jayson Cooper & Davis Storm V Havok, Mikey, FN Carnage & Jimmy Payne
Noone seemed to care who they were paired with as long as they got a shot at their arch enemies. This match was non stop from start to finish with Storm and Mikey going at it and Jimmy looking to cut down anyone in sight. It looked as if we were going to get a long awaited showdown between Jag and Havok before Havok backed down and tagged out.
The match became a brawl with Jag and Storm getting the crowd on their feet with simultaneous tope’s to the outside. The action was going back and forth with no rest until Anella low blowed Jag. Storm went for the Eye of the Storm on Jimmy but was slapped by Anella. He then drilled her with a DDT as Cooper came flying off the top with a match winning swanton.

That was the end of a historic evening for all involved. We would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to all involved with the show. Especially our fantastic South Australian production and organization teams. This show could not have happened without your dedication.
